Lalong dissolves cabinet

Governor Simon Lalong  of Plateau state has dissolved the state executive council with effect from Tuesday midnight.

The Governor in a press release signed by acting Secretary to the Government of the State (SGS), Richard Tokma, said the dissolution also affected Advisers.

“His excellency the executive Governor of Plateau State Simon Bako Lalong, has approved the dissolution of the State Executive Council, Special Advisers, Legislative liaisons, and senior special Assistants, Special Assistants as well as local government liaisons and such other appointees,” it said.

It further said the dissolution also affected, chairmen and members of commissions, board and parastatals, “except statutory commissions specified in the constitution.”

“However, the Attorney-General and commissioner for justice is to remain in office pending the reconstitution of the State Executive Council,” the released read in part.
