Kogi Poll : Yahaya Bello hails INEC, security agencies, voters’ turnout

Kogi state governor Yahaya Bello has lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for early delivering of voter’ materials to various polling units across the state.

Governor Bello stated this on Saturday at his country home Agassa in Okene local government area shortly after he casted his ballot for the November 11, 2023 governorship election in Kogi state.

The governor who also commended security agencies for conducting themselves professionally, said citizens are exercising their franchise peacefully without any rancour or violence.

Governor Bello said, “We have all come out in numbers to cast our votes. I have just cast my vote along with my family members and others are casting their votes. It is timely. All materials were deployed within the time stipulated.

“And so far I haven’t seen a complaint from any quota. The conduct of INEC so far has been so fantastic. All the security agencies have conducted themselves so far very professionally.”

He described issue of violence in Kogi election as a creation of the media and those who resided outside the state and does not want good things to happen in Kogi state.

“By the glory of God you are seeing the atmosphere very tranquil, very  peaceful. So there is nothing like violence and the conduct of free, fair, credible and acceptable election is in the hands of both security agencies and the citizens,” he said.
