Kano billionaire Isiyaku Rabiu dies at 90

A renowned Kano business magnet and Islamic scholar, Shiekh Isiyaku Rabiu, is dead. The billionaire business mogul died yesterday in a London hospital at the age of 90, after a protracted illness. The news of his demise was made known to residents of the ancient city in the late evening of yesterday by one of his children, Rabiu Isiyaku Rabiu who communicated the news of his death to news men via telephone.
The late business mogul and politician was popularly known for his immense philanthropist gesture, cutting different strata of societal needs and his mastery of the glorious Quran, who during his sojourn on earth almost converted his personal residence into a revered centre of Islamic scholarship He was also known for his acumen as a savvy business tycoon, who had established a reputation in the field, establishing reputable business companies that provided employment to people who had earned a living working under his tutelage.
As an ardent supporter and disciple of the late leader of the Tijjaniyya Islamic movement, Shiekh Ibrahim Inyass, the late business icon and Islamic scholar was until his departure to the great beyond, a leader of the Tijjaniyya Islamic sect, a position that made him to be seen and adored as one of the leading pillars of the sect. He is survived by four wives, 42 children and many grand children; among whom is the renowned business tycoon, Alhaji Abdulsamad Isiyaku Rabiu, his eldest son, Alhaji Nafi u Rabiu and many more. His remains according to one of his children, Rabiu Isiyaku Rabiu, would be flown to Kano from London today, after the conclusion of the necessary protocol, having died in a foreign land and would be buried as soon as his remains arrive the state today.
