Jonathan’s home burglary: 4 cops dismissed

Four policemen have been dismissed over their alleged involvement in theft at the Gwarimpa residence of former President Goodluck Jonathan. A press statement by the Police Public Relations Offi cer for the FCT Police Command, CSP Anjuguri Manzah, yesterday in Abuja, named the policemen as Sergeant Musa Musa with Force No. 436691; Sergeant John Nanpak with Force No. 235422; Sergeant Ogah Audu with Force No. 261898 and Sergeant Ogah Audu with Force No. 425210. He said policemen were found guilty in an Orderly Room trial and the Commissioner of Police in charge of the FCT, CP Musa Kimo, has approved their dismissal from the Force.

Th e statement read in part: “In fulfi lment of the promise by the FCT Police Command to make public its fi ndings on the investigation of the case of theft at the Gwarimpa residence of former President Goodluck Jonathan, the command wishes to state that in line with fi rst schedule of Police Act and Regulation 370 Cap 19, the policemen guarding the house have been tried in an Orderly Room proceeding and found culpable of the off ence.

“Sequel to the out-come of the orderly room proceeding, the Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Musa Kimo, has approved the immediate dismissal of the following police Rank and Files from the Nigeria Police Force: F/ No. 436691 Sgt Musa Musa; F/ No. 235422 Sgt John Nanpak; F/No. 261898 Sgt Ogah Audu and F/No. 425210 Sgt Gabriel Ugah.” He said the Orderly Room proceeding in respect of Inspector Lengs Satlakau, AP/No.141199 and Inspector Usman Wuduki, AP/No. 150566; has been forwarded to Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG in charge of Zone 7 for further action.

Th e spokesperson added: “Th e command wishes to also state that the main culprit Sergeant Musa Musa, F/No436691; will be charged to court for prosecution, while eff orts have been intensifi ed to arrest his accomplice one Malam Shuaibu, who is presently at large.” He said the action was in compliance with the vision of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Ibrahim Idris, to rid the Force of criminal elements that were out to disparage its image.
