Jigawa releases N39m for NYSC camp renovation


 The Jigawa state government, Sunday said it has released the sum of N39 million for the general renovation of General Yakubu Gown  NNYSC permanent site camp located at Fanisau, Dutse, the Jigawa state capital.
Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar made the remark in his speech delivered  at the formal opening of the 2020 batch ‘A’  Stream one  orientation course for corps members  deployed to the state.
‘’My beloved compatriots, my administration is determined to ensure that this orientation camp will be the best in the country. To this effect, I have approved the immediate release of N39 million   to give a comprehensive face-lift of the camp,’’ he said.
He stated that out of this amount, the sum of N22 milion was devoted for the construction of additional hostels for corps members while the sum of N17 million  was meant for renovation of the camp.

Governor Badaru, who was represented by the state Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Hussaini Ali Kila, said government was aware of the tremendous contributions of the NYSC to the rapid socio economic  and political  development of the young state  adding out that his administration greatly appreciates  those contributions.

 He said as an NYSC friendly  governor,  government  will intensify efforts  to provide  financial  and moral support  assistance to  the scheme  for the more operational efficiency  and effectiveness.


He said that the management of the service in the state was at liberty to notify government of any operational challenge for prompt positive response.
Earlier in his welcome address, the state coordinator of the NYSC, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdu Muhammad, stated that from the start of registration to the cut –off time ,they have registered a total of 1,813 out of the 2100 prospective corps members deployed to the state comprising male and female,  adding that their demography  represents all the six geo-political zones of the country.
