It’s no longer fashionable to abandon PDP, Dankwanbo declares

The outgoing governor of Gombe state, Ibrahim Dankwanbo has said he would continue to be a loyal Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) man despite witnessing varying degree of betrayal by some party chieftains.

Dankwanbo stated that even when it was fashionable in the North to leave the party, he never did.

The governor and his party lost to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just concluded general elections.

There were also speculations in some quarters that he (the governor) was planning to abandon the main opposition PDP to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

But in a Facebook post on Saturday, governor Dankwanbo declared that he remained a loyal party man.

While lamenting how his party lost to APC in his state, the governor stated that it was a case of betrayal by many party members.

He, however, bbelievedthat he would be vindicated.

“Many betrayed our great party in Gombe but time will tell. Their betrayal though painful has made me more dedicated to the PDP. As a loyal party man, even when it was the fashionable thing in the North to abandon the party in 2015, I never did. ‬

“We will be vindicated,” the governor stated.
