ISAN seeks harmonised national economic legal instruments

The independent Shareholders Association of Nigeria (ISAN) has said that the nation’s economic fortune has deteriorated further in the last decade due to the distortion in the administration of justice.

The shareholders also said that poor coordination and lack of cohesiveness between the three tiers of government in the administrative of justice in Nigeria has continued to impact negatively on various economic policy road map.

The National Coordinator of ISAN Dr Anthony Omojola who made this statement in Lagos said that the federal government non-chalant attitude and lip service to the administration of justice in the country and the economy compelled the group to interrogate the seeming national cancer.

According to him , “the interrogating through a national seminar scheduled for October 27, 2022 in Lagos has become imperative in the face of the declining fortunes on return on investments for both domestic and foreign investors”.

He argued that the forth coming ISAN 7th triennial delegate conference on administration of justice in Nigeria and our Economy aims at creating an enabling interface between government, legislators, shareholders and numerous operators of Investment windows.

In his own contribution, ISAN Coordinator Emeritus, Sir Sunny Nwosu said that the dynamic character of the global economy has called for urgent need for federal government to harmonise the laws moderating the economy.

Nwosu stated that the absence of harmony in the administration of justice, particularly in managing the nation’s verse resource and human capital has manifested in recent times to raw materials theft, brain drain, declining revenue accruable to government and increasing labour unrest. He urged the Federal Government to speedily coordinate and harmonize the operating legal instruments moderating the economy, insisting that unless government embarks on the needful, the soul and spirit of subsisting economic policy documents will not be achieved.” The one day conference under the distinguished Chairmanship of Dr Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, Founder/Chairman of Coronation Capital limited will feature Barrister Chuks Nwachuku as the Guest Speaker. The other dignitaries expected at the Conference scheduled for the Lagos Airport Hotel included Captains of industries like Dr Jim Ovia, Dr Tony Elumelu, Mallam Yuguda Lamido, Dr (Mrs.)Omobola Johnson, Mr Nnamdi Okonkwo, Mr. Kayode Falowo and Mr. Oscar Onyema among others. All members of ISAN across the nation and in Diasporas are expected to attend the Triennial Delegates Conference where new leaders will be elected to run the Association for the next three years.
