Insurgency: Group donates uniforms, others to 62 orphans in Yobe


In an effort to support the enrolment of the vulnerable students whom parents were killed as result of Boko Haram insurgency, a group Northeast Youth Initiatives for Development (NEYIF) has distributed learning materials to 62 Orphans and 26 JAMB forms to less privilege
candidates who got the minimum requirements.

Flagging-off the distribution on Tuesday at Bah-Yaye Memorial School, Damaturu, the Executive Director, NEYIF, Dauda Mohammed Gombe, said the initiative was to assist them continue with their education haven lost their parents.

“Today we are donating assorted learning materials to 62 most
vulnerable Orphans whom their parents were killed inorder to continue with their education haven passed through challenges of life”.

“Also 26 less privilege candidates who got the JAMB minimum
requirements will be given their slips after successful registration, and this will be a continues process,” he said.

The Executive Director further pledged to offer a personal five-year scholarship to vulnerable 5 female medical students and purchase of JAMB forms to 50 candidates annually.

Earlier in his remarks, the Proprietor of the school, Dr. Habu ah-Yaye Adamu thanked NEYIF for the gesture and Presidential Committee on Northeast Initiatives for partnering to roof the burnt down classes by the insurgents.

Items donated were uniforms, exercise books, biro, pencils, among others.
