In Nasarawa, Lawmaker offers scholarship to students


Nasarawa State House of Assembly member representing Karu/Gitata Constituency, Hon. David Maiyaki, has offered scholarship to students in his Constituency to enhance the educational standard within the zone.Maiyaki made the offer during interaction with newly elected officials of National Association of Nyamkpa Students (NANS) in Keffi, Nasarawa state over the weekend.He said school is a place where students learn, make friends and live as a common family, adding that NANS as a body of youths, serves as a team and a struggle for future opportunities Maiyaki said .

Nyamkpa was known as a community where graduates are scarce , but within the shortest period of the establishment of Nasarawa State University, every household has produced at least one or two graduates.He said those who are to  benefit from the scholarship are final year students in universities and polytechnics.

Maiyaki said the scholarship is another alternative to encourage youths to embrace education and have individual transformation. He urges the NANS members to take History very important, as according to him, History gives opportunity to  everybody to know where he belongs.

Maiyaki congratulated the newly elected officials of NANS, as well as the outgoing EXCO who served the association in good faith, and 
 and  appealed to those that contested and lost out to imbibe the spirit of spotsmanship in order to encourage the new leadership to succeed.Similarly, the newly elected NANS president Comrade Amos Danasabe Binna, expressed his appreciation for giving them opportunity to serve the association and pledge to work on the existing structure of the association.

Amos described Maiyaki as a good leader and someone who knows the way to success.Comr. Danasabe appealed to Maiyaki to give international scholarship to students in Nyamkpa and other communities in the constituency to study abroad.
