Imo state govt to encourage girl-child education

The Imo state government has said that it will collaborate with beauty queen, Miss Ezinne Anyaoha, to ensure the success of her pet project aimed at educating young girls on sex-related issues and abuses.
Governor Rochas Okorocha made the pledge when Anyaoha, the current Miss Nigeria Beauty Queen, paid him a courtesy visit at Government House, Owerri.

Okorocha expressed joy that an Imo daughter emerged the 2013 Miss Nigeria and congratulated her for the feat. He beseeched the beauty queen to collaborate with the state Ministry of Women Affairs to ensure the full realization of her noble cause.

Anyaoha in her comments commended the governor on the free education programme and the massive development of infrastructure in the state. She added that her pet project was borne out of the need to address the abuse of young and innocent girls in Nigeria.

According to her, the project seeks to create awareness and assist young girls to discuss issues of abuse and also to support the girls.
She called on the state government and other well-meaning Nigerians to collaborate with her for the success of her project.
Anyaoha, a graduate of Aba State University and presently a student of the Nigerian Law School, Lagos is the 38th Miss Nigeria Beauty Queen.
