Imo north: Okigwe leaders drum support for Ibezim

With few weeks to the Imo North senatorial by-election slated for October 31, 2020, notable leaders from Okigwe zone have thrown their full weights behind the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Sir Frank Ibezim.

They also drummed support for the APC senatorial standard bearer.

This was the high point of the meeting held at the county home of Chief Tony Chukwu, leader of APC in Okigwe zone which attracted mammoth crowd of Okigwe electorates, which described Ibezim as a man whose pedigree and antecedents precede and speak positive things.

The leaders affirmed that the people of Okigwe made a wise choice in the candidature of Ibezim.

They equally appealed for total support which would translate to votes and guarantee victory at the upcoming election.

Chief Chukwu particularly enjoined all APC faithful in the zone to support and work for the success of Ibezim.

In his remarks, Sir. Ibezim expressed happiness over the overwhelming support and solidarity shown to him by the Okigwe people and reassured them that when he emerges as their senator, he will bring uncommon transformation and development to the zone.

Those in attendance at the meeting were the state Chairman of APC, Chief Marcellinus Nlemigbo, Member representing Okigwe North in the House of Representative, Hon. Mrs. Miriam Onuoha, Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chiji Collins, Members of the State Assembly, Honourable Commissioners, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, interim Chairmen and members of the six area councils, other appointees from Okigwe zone extraction as well as opinion leaders and other relevant Stakeholders.

Some of the senatorial aspirants in attendance were, Rt. Hon. Acho Ihim, Hon. Matthew Omegara and Chief Bright Nwachukwu.
