Imo 2015: Why we want Anyanwu as gov – Woman leader

By Chidiebere Iwuoha

A woman leader in Imo state, Chief Mrs. Rose Ebonine, has given reasons  she and other Imo women want a woman, specifically, Senator Chris Anyanwu, to become the next governor of the state, come 2015.
In a chat with our correspondent in Owerri, Chief Ebonine made it clear that Anyanwu was the only female politician in the entire state who was capable of withstanding the “antics” or “chauvinism” associated with men.
Ebonine said in nearly eight years, Anyanwu had represented Imo East Senatorial District (Owerri Zone) she had established skills acquisition centres in the nine local government and distributed transformers to all the nooks and crannies of the zone, the way a few sincere men would do.
She said apart from several scholarship awards she had given to students of her senatorial district and beyond, Anyanwu had distributed bags of rice to help assist women in their efforts to feed their families and offered employment to Imolites both in her establishment and in other federal government establishments.
“In addition to that several youths are now preparing to travel to the United States for different skills. You can now see why she is preferable,” she said.
