‘I’m on rescue mission in Niger’

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Niger state, Aminu Mohammed Baka, has said he is on a rescue mission to save the state from backwardness and general underdevelopment. Baka stated this yesterday in Minna while addressing journalists, saying the state has been suffering from bad leadership since the inception of democratic rule.
The aspirant, who is the first to have presented his letter of intent to the party on 24th of April, 2018, said he joined the governorship race after due consultation with stakeholders from the three senatorial zones of the state. He said the zoning arrangement practiced in the state is illegal, adding that “2019 is the year that the people of Niger state will vote between competence and blind loyalty.
Everywhere in the world, people vote along the line of issues and solutions rather than meal ticket to survive.” He said, “my aspiration is to rescue the state, provide better alternative that is people-oriented, that will provide good leadership in terms of the provision of necessary and required social amenities for the people while giving maximum priority to the security and welfare of the citizenry.
” He assured that if voted into office, his administration will trigger economic development of the state while providing enabling environment for all businesses to strive. Baka said he will also give priority to education, health, agriculture, women and youth empowerment if elected in 2019, adding that, “this would be aimed at reducing social vices as a result of unemployment.”
The aspirant, who applauded former governor of the state, Dr Muazu Babangida Aliyu, for his tremendous developmental strides during his eight years, said when elected, he will complete all uncompleted projects by previous administrations.
