I’ll focus on insecurity, agric, job creation – Zamfara gov


The newly sworn in governor of Zamfara state under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Dauda Lawal Dare, has pledged to give emphasis to insecurity, agriculture, job creation and infrastructural development for the development of the state.

Governor Dauda stated this at the formal swearing in ceremony of his administration held at Zamfara Trade Center, Monday.

He stated that Zamfara state has been reported to have insecurity issues  as a result of the activities of terrorists, hence the need for his administration to partner with the federal government to rescue the state for peace to thrive.

“We are going to map out every strategy to contain the lingering insecurity that bedeviled the state for over a decade for the restoration of peace and socio economic development of the state,” he said.

Dr. Dauda pointed out that agriculture and job creation will be given emphasis by his administration to ensure socio economic development of the state.

He stated further that he will join hands with donor agencies and foreign investors to develop the state.

“My administration will collaborate with donor agencies as well as foreign investors to develop the state in the area of infrastructural and human development considering the fact that Zamfara state is left behind due to inadequate sources of income to develop the state,” he stated.

He appealed to people of the state to give his administration all the necessary support to attain his administration’s stated goals.

“I want to appeal to the entire people of Zamfara state that Zamfara is financially unstable and we will do everything possible to salvage the state from its predicament,” he said.
