France and Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe has revealed his intention to win the Ballon d’Or award at the end of the season.
The 2023 Ballon d’Or ceremony is set to take place on October 16 2023 at the Theater de Chatelet in France.
Mbappe is one of the top competitiors for the accolade after winning the golden boot at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar with eight goals and two assists.
The 24-year-old stated that his ambition is to win the Ballon d’Or.
“If winning the Ballon d’Or is one my goals this season? Of course,” Mbappe was quoted on a Twitter handle, PSG Chief.
‘The Ballon d’Or is always a goal.. It’s not a priority at the moment, but it’s in the back of my mind.”
Mbappe came second in the FIFA Best Player Awards with Argentine icon Lionel Messi in first place.
Mbappe has scored 30 goals and provided eight assists in 30 games across all competitions for Paris Saint-Germain this season.
The Parisians are first in the French Ligue 1 with 63 points from 26 matches.
