Effects of high turnover of federal lawmakers at both the Senate and House of Representatives, played out Wednesday when Some Senators before commencement of joint session for Budget Presentation by President Bola Tinubu, attended plenary of the House of Representatives.
Laid down tradition and parliamentary procedures, require Senators to proceed to chamber of the House of Representatives for the joint session from their own chamber and not go there individually.
But some Senstors ahead of the joint session, went to House of Representatives chamber out of ignorance which baffled Honourable members in Session.
Apparently realising their mistakes , the Senators who committed the legislative errors quickly ran out of the chamber to join their colleagues.
However as at the time they were hurrying back to the Senate, their colleagues from the Senate had suspended their plenary for the joint session, making them to join them by returning back to the House Chamber.
Mistakes made by the senators, arose from lack of deep knowledge and understanding of legislative practices and procedures for such joint sittings, caused by high turnover of lawmakers always recorded every four years.
President Tinubu later arrived the Chamber at about 11: 10am for 2024 Budget presentation to the joint session.
