Ganduje partners NIS on electronic migrants’ registration

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state has re-affirmed the commitment of his administration towards supporting security agencies to enable them face their challenges.

Speaking at the launching of E- Migrants Registration exercise held at the state headquarters of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) in Kano over the weekend, Ganduje stated that there was no better time to support the laudable crusade than now, considering the need for security agencies to nip every form of crime in the bud.

According to him, “the NIS is indispensable in the fight against the dastardly exploits of some undesirable elements infiltrating the country in violation of the laws and procedures governing  their entry”, affirming that the Service must be fully supported to live up to its billing.

He stated that no nation could jettison the persistent threats of external incursion of foreigners infiltrating the country without making the operations of its immigration service operatives formidable, stressing that with the introduction of the E- Migrants Registration, achieving the goal would be seamless.

Speaking earlier, the Comptroller General, Nigerian Immigration Service, Alhaji Muhammadu Babandede, said E- Migrants Registration was aimed at capturing  the identity of migrants domiciling in the country and those that come  into the country, stressing that the Nigerian Immigration  Service was ever willing to  support the
