FUOYE VC charges students on discipline

The ‎ vice chancellor of Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Professor Kayode Somerekun Wednesday charged students of the institution to be law abiding.

Somerekun, who was represented by the dean of Engineering, Prof. Babatope Alabadan, gave the charge during the school’s maiden matriculation ceremony in Oye-Ekiti.

He advised the students to always work hard and comport themselves, especially when working on their projects and examinations.

The vice chancellor, ‎who described the university as one of the best among the newly established institutions, urged the students to be focused and to make judicious use of their facilities.

The university, he said, takes care of indigent students and encourages its lecturers.

“Our students have won many international laurels while our lecturers have won fellowship globally.

“As for facilities, many of the older universities are envious of our facilities, as we have state-of–the-art facilities compared to the obsolete ones,” he said.

‎The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that 292 students participated in the matriculation ceremony.
