Focus on Nigeria’s development, Ooni charges leaders

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, yesterday tasked Nigerian leaders to focus more on the development of the country in the New Year.
Ogunwusi gave the charged in his message to Nigerians signed by the Director of Media & Public Affairs, Ooni’s Palace, Comrade Moses Olafare and made available to journalists.
He maintained that the time has come for all Nigerians, wherever they might find themselves, to play their part effectively to develop the country and reposition it as a respected entity within the comity of nations.

Ogunwusi stressed that “it is when all Nigerians work assiduously for the common good of the country that the nation as well as its citizens will hold their heads high as belonging to an entity that commands respects of other nations in the global arena”.
According to the Ooni, leaders all levels across the country should fashion out measures capable of stimulating mass employment for the teeming youths of the country.
“The task of taking the nation to its divinely ordained glory should be a collective effort of all Nigerians irrespective of religious, ethnic and other considerations. To achieve this, the leaders must endeavour to lead righteously while the led themselves must be diligent to the task of nation building,” the Ooni said.
Ogunwusi while praying for continuous peace and stability in Ile-Ife, Yorubaland and the entire Nigeria throughout the New Year reeled out his four pronged developmental agenda for the development of Yorubaland to include sports, tourism, agriculture and industrialisation which are rooted in comprehensive efforts for youth developmental.
