FG votes N4bn for irrigation at Kazaure, Roni, others –Rep

To buttress it promises of boosting agriculture, especially  irrigation programme in the country, the federal government has set aside  in the 2016 budget about N4 billion  to boost food security at Kazaure Emirate of Jigawa state and Nigeria at large.
The member representing Kazaure , Roni Yanshi, Gwiwa and Yankwahsi Federal Constituency, Hon. Muahmmad Gudaji Danbapa, disclosed   to Blueprint  in a chat in Kaaure after he was honoured by the Emir of Kazaure  Alhaji Jajeeb Hussaini Adamu at the weekend.
He said the money will be used for the drawing water from Gari Dam in Kano state and channelisation  of farms in his  constituency    so that thousands will be engaged in commercial farming  to avoid idleness most specially during the dry season.
He mentioned that he sponsored the motion  for the  improving of agriculture in his constituency being  which has agricultural potentials   especially wheat, rice, maize ,fruits, tomatoes and pepper as well as sugar cane pointing out the motion was seconded adding that the whole approved that amount will be set a side for the projects.
“We saw what the has been packaged in the 2016  appropriation bill in respect of agriculture, we will support president Buahri to achieve his promise of enhancing  agricultural production and food security in the Country.

He said  the 2016  federal government budget has  good packages for youth empowerment , boosting education ,health  care services delivery among others pointing out  despite the fall in fuel prices in the world, president  Buhari has will secured sources to finance  the budget   saying the money will be collected from  the past  leaders who siphoned public , shifting to solid minerals development were among the sources.
Muhammad Gudaji added that  every months , he send not less than N3milion for minor rehabilitation of culverts , health facilities, mosques, sponsoring students  who got admission to further their education  as an interim measures.
“When we won the 2015 elections ,some of our opponents whom we defeated have the notion that we  are not capable of holding the position of Federal legislature, but to their dismay, we achieved a lot more than what they did in eight years,’’ he pointed out.
