FCT: Police partner MVD corps for crime-free environment

Determined to create conducive atmosphere at Dutse Alhaji Abuja for peaceful activities, the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has assured Men of Valour and Discipline (MVD) corps of partnership in the area.

Division Police Officer (DPO) Dutse Alhaji Divisional Headquarters, Hussani Audu, gave this indication while addressing the people of the area on the need for synergy towards the safety of the environment a over the weekend.

He said: “The Nigerian Police Force cannot do without the voluntary corps because we work hand in hand for effectiveness and efficiency. We work hand in hand to achieve torganisational goals.

I don’t joke with voluntary organisations because they give us details about happenings. The importance of voluntary uniform corps cannot be ove-emphasised, because the Police cannot be everywhere at a time. These people identify flash points and give us information in which they want us to work upon.

“If you are scared to give my officers information, come to me; my door is open and ready for partnership. Any place you want us to work and protect lives and properties, let me know, in a maximum of 48 hours we will do the needful.”

Speaking also at the event, the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) President, Solomon Adodo, stressed the need for a better Nigeria where youth can come up with great ideas, with their skills, vision and potentials to see how they can transform the country for productive activities.

He said, “Today is a day where Nigeria needs to be charged to action. This even has been brought here closer to the grassroots, where we can have closer interactions with our youths to forge a synergy between the uniform voluntary organization and the security agencies.

“Our DPO has spoken clearly on the commitment of the Nigerian Police Force. We have also seen the integration of the Armed Forces of Nigeria and we can state clearly that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) is determined to stamp out every element of crime, banditry and terrorism.”
