FCT: Kwali monarch preaches peace, unity among Nigerians 

The Etsu of Kwali, Alhaji (Dr.) Shaban Audu Nizazo lll, has advocated for peaceful co-existence as Muslims all over the world marked this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

The monarch made the call, Saturday, while delivering his Sallah message in Kwali, Abuja, and congratulated the Muslim faithful on their perseverance during this festive period.

The Etsu admonished the citizens to be cautious of their environment and report any suspicious and uncomfortable movement within their neighbourhoods, reiterating the need for the people to intensify prayers so that peace and unity will be restored to Nigeria, especially the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja. 

The monarch appealed to residents to maintain peace, pointing out that there would be no development without peace and security in the land.

He stressed that the government must work with the people through constant enlightenment and properly train personnel, to enable communities cooperate with security agencies to curb insecurity without being subjected to intimidation for providing information.

The traditional ruler called for thorough review of the security architecture, the deployment of personnel and disciplinary procedures employed to ensure that members of security agencies in the country are loyal and patriotic enough to be trusted to defend the country and the people.

On the disruption of the academic calendar due to incessant strikes by lecturers, the Etsu, a professional zoology teacher, and one time school principal, regretted that the government has not been doing enough to ensure the growth of education while also blaming education administrators and teachers for not being patriotic enough to stabilise the future of the nation’s youths and student population.
