@90, ex-Envoy wants Nigerians to eschew stealing

Former Ambassador to Switzerland, Yahaya Yusuf Kwande, has admonished Nigeria’s young generations to eschew the tendencies of stealing and fighting for the future development of the Country.

Ambassador Kwande admonished the youths in a chat with journalist, during his 90th birthday celebration on Sunday at his residence in Jos.

He said: “Today I am 90 and I am definitely grateful to God. The secret to my looking younger than the age, people tell me that it was food, I don’t agree with it. I believe is in the heart, try and always clean the heart, try and live with your neighbours in peace and help them.”

According to him, Nigeria had started developing very well,  until when the younger generations thwarted the path of progress.

“Nigerians are very good people, we started very well, God is so kind to our country, go to every bush and  see things, God has blessed  us,  we started developing ourselves, but unfortunately, the younger generations are in haste to make money and the issue of money is poison.

“My advice to younger generations is to really work hard, and depend on themelves.”

The elder statesman frowned at the spates of fighting and wanton killings in the  country, saying; “if we (Nigerians) go to where you are now going, fighting ourselves, is not good for the future of Nigeria.”

The 90th birthday celebration of the elder statesman, witnessed large turnout of family members, relations, friends as well as well-wishers who presented pleasantries.
