Enugu CSOs announce dissolution of ENSNET

A coalition of all the civil society organisations in Enugu state, under the auspices of Enugu State Network of Civil Society Organisations of Enugu, Nigeria (ENSNET), has announced the dissolution of its executive officers.

ENSNET founder and ex-chair, Comrade Emmanuel Acha, said the dissolution followed several unsuccessful attempts to broker peace among members.

He noted that several individuals and corporate organisations including the EU could not resolve the sharp dissention among members, hence the dissolution.
“As a follow up to the legitimate call for the dissolution of the Enugu State Network of Civil Society Organisations (ENSNET) in accordance to the “Article 10 of ENSNET Constitution” with the following very important reasons as stated below:
“A failed conflict resolution attempt by Mr. James Ugochukwu- an Abuja based civil society practitioner and executive director of African Centre for Entrepreneurship and Information Development (ACEIDEV) in January, 2023.
“Stalled mediation process instituted by ENSNET members themselves (among which are respected elders) as convened by Mr. Sam Obiefuna of Disability Policy and Empowerment Consult (DPEC) in April 2023.
“Continuous pollution and/or disturbance of ENSNET Members Whatsapp group with hate speeches, assaults, blackmailing, gas-lighting, disrespectful comments, unending and needless arguments and all manner of threats against one another alien to the civil society sector. This is irrespective of the fact that all former excos have already tendered their resignations to allow for seamless mediation process.”
