A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Enugu state, Hon. Chidera Nwodo, has said that for justice, equity and good conscience an Igbo-Etiti let alone Ukehe man should not run for governor in 2015 as governorship position zoned to Enugu North senatorial zone of the state, by Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP).
Nwodo, who stated this in an interview with our correspondent, on the rumours making the rounds that he was behind the campaign posters of the Speaker, Hon. Eugene Odoh, who incidentally is from the same electoral ward with him in Ukehe, Igbo-Etiti council area for the governorship position.
He said he was not in support of anybody from his area to run for governor next year; “since Hon. Odoh is from my area I cannot support him, not for anything but for justice and equity.”
He said: “An Ukehe man should not be the governor of Enugu state. We have a former governor, former deputy governor, speaker, resident commissioner, former chairman of PDP, former national secretary of PDP and a lot more. We have brothers from the same Nsukka zone, from Udenu, Isi-Uzo, Nsukka, Igboeze North, and Igboeze South respectively who are qualified for the position, they are part of Nsukka zone, and should be allowed to go for the governorship position and certainly not Ukehe man again for they are not only people in Nsukka zone.”
The ex-state administrative secretary of PDC maintained that “if you want equity you must go with clean hands. I know that if Eugene Odoh became the next governor of the state our people will surely benefit, but like I said the governor should go to another area in Nsukka zone other than Igbo-Etiti.”
Hon Nwodo asked the rationale behind the alleged his support for Hon. Odoh’s quest for the governorship position when not quite long he invaded his house with some armed men, “made away with my Laptop and break my doors because I told him that he is not representing our people well in the state house of assembly, that Igbo-Etiti is not working.

“I was also locked up at the police anti-kidnapping unity of Enugu command of Nigeria police force. So how can one say I am championing his governorship ambition?”
