The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Brig-General Shuaibu Ibrahim, has commiserated with the corps member, Saidu Mohammed Adamu (EK/20B/1251) who sustained injuries from gunshot as a result of the violence that mared the by-election held Saturday in Ekiti East local government area of Ekiti state.
A statement from the DG’s office to Blueprint Wednesday said, at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti Tuesday, the NYSC boss showered prayers on the young graduate and other patients.
He commended the corps member and his colleagues for their patriotism in the service of their fatherland. He particularly encouraged the wounded corps member to keep up with his patriotic zeal but not be deterred by the activities of criminal elements in the country.
General Shuaibu also appreciated the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Professor Kunle Ajayi, and his medical team for ensuring that the corps member received adequate treatment promptly, even as he thanked the governor of Ekiti state for footing the bill of the affected corps member, and called on all Nigerians to see corps members deployed to serve in their communities as their own children.
“Corps members are apolitical and neutral and must be protected by all and sundry,” General Ibrahim said.
The Chief Medical Director who led the NYSC boss to the DG, assured that his team would continue to give him the best attention to ensure his total recovery.
