Eggon community of  Akun Development Area of Nasarawa state has pledged total support to Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura’s second term bid.
The community declared their support yesterday when the governor paid a solidarity rally to the area as part of his state-wide campaign tour.
Most speakers at the event said the administration of Al-Makura had touched their lives positively and would support his re-election bid.
Christopher Luka, a community member, said that the Eggon people had it so well in the administration of governor Al-Makura since the creation of the state in 1996.
“We had three commissioners in the cabinet of Al-Makura apart from other appointments such as head of service, advisers and he also held in high esteem more than any other tribe in the state,” he said.
He explained that Eggon had no reason not to vote Al-Makura because of the numerous people oriented projects executed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) led administration in the state.
“We had three high quality asphalt road within the first two years of his administration apart from water supply which he resuscitated after fifteen years of being moribund.”
In his remarks, Al-Makura promised to turn the Eggon community into a hub of economic activities through resuscitation of agricultural activities and commercial ventures.
He said his administration would accord priority to every community according to its potentials and desirable resources.
