Distribute palliatives through traditional rulers, Oluwo tells government

The Oluwo of Iwoland in Osun state, Oba Abdurosheed Akanbi, Monday said the traditional rulers should be the best means of distributing palliative if there is sincerity.

He  argued that it is traditional rulers that can reach out to people saying people be sincere in what they do.

He said: “You see me while I was distributing palliatives and you did not see that I am discriminating, my sharing formula is blind.”

On the allegation that some politicians are hoarding palliatives,

He said every politician and the rich in the society must come out to  assist the needy to complement the effort of the government at this trying time.

Speaking with journalists during the distribution of his annual food support to the needy in Iwo weekend, the monarch said he decided to go and give his people in their room because he was supposed to serve them.

He added that the gesture was part of his support for the efforts of President Bola Tinubu because he believes he meant well for the country.

He said: “If any government and political office holder is hoarding palliative, I believe that it is a curse. People should stop incurring the wrath of God in this period of Ramadan and Easter. You can’t finish that food by yourself, it will only kill you. Instead, distribute it like I am doing to those who need it. This is leadership.”
