Corruption not population, bane of Nigeria’s dev, says Sheikh Jingir

The National Chairman Council of Ulama, Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa’Ikatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, has said that population is not the bane of Nigeria’s development.

He attributed corruption as the major factor, hindering the country’s progress and development.

Sheikh Jingir, stated this at the opening of the JIBWIS 3-day annual national seminar with the themed: “Security and well-being panacea for purposeful leadership,” holding in Jos the Plateau State capital.

He said it were population China wouldn’t have progress and developed to the level it has attained, adding that Nigerians have just become money mongers to the detriment of the progress and development of the country.

“We have people in leadership that did not care to sincerely work for the good of Nigeria. But they rather resorted to siphoning public funds,” he said.
