Concerned PDP members have accused the former Governor of Borno state, Ali Modu Sheriff of planting story in some online media aimed at “blackmailing the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen and the entire judicial system in Nigeria.” In a statement yesterday signed by one Edwin Ateke on behalf of the Concerned PDP members, the group noted that “the alleged interference on PDP matter at the Supreme Court as reported by the media only existed on the wild imagination of the Sheriff and his collaborators in the ruling APC. Th e statement noted that “no member or group of individuals in our great party, the PDP has any reason to interfere with the processes at the Court.

“We had earlier alerted Nigerians to the fact that Sheriff and his agents of destruction had recruited machinery to formulate and propagate stories in order to discredit the Justices and the outcome of the Supreme Court judgment and to undermine the entire judicial system in the country. “Nigerians should, therefore, disregard the entire content of the story in the online media. It is the handiwork of Sheriff and his enemies of democracy”. Reacting, the acting Spokesman of the Sheriff -led PDP, Hon Bernard Mikko, said “no one can blackmail the judiciary as a separate arm of government”.
