Corporate organisations, businesses and individual Nigerians have been advised to patronize professional insurance brokers in order to get eff ective and effi cient performance before, during and after a client engages their services, the Branch Manager of IBN, Alhaji Ahmad Balele Mamman has said. Addressing the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers, Kaduna state chapter’s 2017 Insurance Week in Kaduna, in a paper titled: “Insurance and Role of Insurance Brokers” which is also the theme of the week, the veteran insurance broker said most organizations without knowledge ignore the important roles played by professional brokers and end up paying dearly for it.\
“Th e review of an organization’s risk and insurance management function is one area which is frequently ignored in the reengineering process of organizations. It is ideal to evolve an insurance/risks management philosophy alongside other corporate policies of an organisation on medium and long term basis,” he said. Chairman Kaduna Chapter of Insurance Brokers of Nigeria, Mr. Vincent Akinbami said that the insurance brokers’ week is an annual event aimed at sensitizing the public on the roles of insurance brokers. According to Akinbami, “the event is to also better equip our members’ knowledge wise and bring about oneness in the industry.
” Th e high point of the week was the presentation of awards to organisations and individual in various categories including awards of excellence for various organisations and merit award for individual. Among the companies who were awarded are Arewa Metal Container Limited (ARMECO), Mothercat Limited, while the individual category include Alhaji Kabir Ringim, Alhaji Balele Mamman among others.
