The Super Falcons finished third at the China invitational tournament when they defeated Romania 4-1 today.
Striker Chinwendu Ihenzuo opened scoring for the African champions after 45 minutes, before the Romanians drew level in the 59th minute.
The Falcons then regained their lead in the 66thminute courtesy of skipper Rita Chikwelu, before they made the game safe with two more goals late in the game.
The Nigeria women’s team had lost 3-0 to hosts China in the semifinal.
The tournament will serve as a tune-up for the Super Falcons ahead of the FIFA Women’s World Cup in France in June.
They are drawn in a tough first round group along with hosts France, Norway and South Korea.
