Bwari Council chair solicits NDPHC’s intervention on rural electrification

The Chairman of Bwari Area council, Hon (Dr) John Shekwogaza Gabaya, has appealed to the Niger Delta Power Holdings Company Ltd (NDPHC) for assistance in the construction of a dedicated electricity distribution infrastructure at Kubwa building materials market, industrial park and other major markets and satellite towns in the FCT.

Speaking Wednesday in Abuja, during a courtesy visit to NDPHC, Gabaya, who was represented by the Vice Chairman of the council, Hon Aminu Musa Gumel, said that provision of electricity in different parts of the council will encourage economic development and increase in employment of FCT residents.

He said the aim of the visit was to express the council’s profound gratitude to NDPHC for the electrification project it carried out in some parts of the council, specifically the injection projects done at Kubwa and Dutse Alhaji, respectively.

He also requested for the assistance of NDPHC in the construction of a dedicated electricity distribution infrastructure at Kubwa building materials market, industrial park and other major markets and satellite towns such as Bwari, Dawaki, Mpape and Dei Dei.

Responding, the Executive Director of NDPHC, Engineer Ife Oyedele, assured that his organization will do everything possible to achieve the aim of the delegation, promising that NDPHC’s engineers will visit the sites next week.

He also commended the administration of Gabaya on its developmental strides since assumption of office as Bwari area council chairman.

On his part, the Head of Admin of the Council, Mr Mathew Okpeku, assured the NDPHC that projects in the council will be protected.

Also, the HOD, Work department, Engineer C.O Momo, who briefly displayed a video record of Kubwa Building Materials Market and Industrial Park, said the market scope and objectives are  impressive investments, worthwhile and convincing.
