There is high tension in the House of Representatives at the moment over protest by members from the South South against the allocation of three percent as host community fund.
The Senate had opted for the three percent, while the House during consideration of report of its committee on the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) okayed five percent, prompting a harmonization committee between the two chambers.
Before commencement of Thursday’s plenary of the House of Representatives, protest however began when it discovered that the committee had settled for the three percent as passed by the Senate.
Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila who walked in amidst the rowdy state of the House immediately after saying the prayer ,called for a motion to go into an executive session.
