Bobmanuel emerges Abuja Rivers community president

A compatriot, Mr. ThankGod Bobmanuel over the weekend, emerged President of the Rivers Community (RIVCOM) Abuja, an umbrella body of Rivers state indigenes living in Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, founded to ensure the welfare of the people of the South-south state.

The 15-member team that would steer the affairs of RIVCOM for the next two years was inaugurated at the Rivers House Abuja with a pledge to ensure the unity and survival of the indigenes.

Speaking shortly after the inauguration, the new RIVCOM president, Mr. Bobmanuel commended the people for the confidence reposed on him to lead them and pledged to be resolute in bringing the best to bear on all Rivers indigenes living in the FCT.

He specifically thanked His Excellency, Governor  Nyesom  Wike for the giant steps taken to develop Rivers state, saying Rivers people were fully in support of the governor’s stewardship.

ThankGod Bobmanuel called on all Rivers indigenes living in Abuja to make themselves available for all activities that would take place at the Rivers Community Arena, which he said is one of the places to meet to address their common interests.

Immediate past president, Rev. Nkemji George Ubani, urged his successor to be focused and avoid anything that would distract him from giving purposeful leadership to the people.

The occasion was well-attended by the who is who among the indigenes of Rivers state living within FCT and neighbouring states, who came to witness the occasion.
