Bayan Tasha Inferno: Buni allocates shops to victims, donates N100m

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state has allocated shops at the newly constructed Damaturu modern market to the victims of Bayan Tasha market finferno to cushion the effects.

Governor Buni announced the allocation of the shops Tuesday when he visited the scenes of the fire outbreak to sympathises with affected persons.

He also donated the sum of 100,000,000 million naira to the victims and assured them of the readiness of his administration to continue to support the hermonised traders association in the state.

He described the fire incident as an act of Almighty Allah and prayed against reoccurrence of the incident.

He directed the State Emergency Management Agency SEMA to access the level of damage for possible further interventions by the state government.

Earlier, briefing the Governor, the executive secretary, State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Dr. Muhammad Goje said, the incident occurred at around 4:00 o’clock in the morning and over thirty three shops were razed down to ashes as a result of the fire inferno.

He further revealed that over one hundred and fifty seven million naira (157 million)was lost to the fire incident.
