Army names facility after fallen hero

The Nigerian Army has named a air-conditioned 100 auditorium built by the 102 Guards Battalion, Suleja after one of it fallen heroes, Guardman Ogirima Salihu.
The soldier was said to have fallen during an ambush in December 2015 with his platoon while in pursuit of local criminal in Mangoro village, Niger state.

While commissioning the project, Commander Guards Brigade, Brig. Gen. MS Yusuf, said Salihu, who hail from Kogi state, displayed gallantry, which earned him a place of honour in the unit he served.
He assured Salihu’s relations present at the occasion that their son did not die in vain; adding that the Nigerian Army recognises the sacrifices of each and every one of its personnel irrespective of their rank or status and those that made the ultimate sacrifice in service of the nation will always be honoured and remembered.
