Army commences training of 171 junior officers on leadership skills 

 

The Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management (NACOLM)  has commenced  training for the  junior officers on leadership skills from corps and services in Lagos. 

The participant officers for the ranks of Captain were about 171 from various corps and services in Nigeria. 

The mandate of the training was modified to produce efficient logisticians and staff-trained officers with requisite leadership skills that are capable of effectively discharging their duties in both joint and combined operations at formations and higher levels using contemporary management concepts and techniques. 

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony over the weekend titled; ‘The making of an effective leader and staff officer for joint operating environment’ held at Tukur Yusuf Buratai Hall, NACOLM permanent site, Ojo, in Lagos, the Commandant, Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management (NACOLM) Brigadier General Wisdom Etuk, said the  2023 inaugurated Junior Leadership and Staff Officers Course (JLSOC) were comprising of 171 students from various corps and services in the country.

In his inaugural address, he stated that the college was established in December 2002 with the initial mandate of training logisticians.

He added that following the expansion of the courses run in the college with the addition of leadership and staff officers courses,  the mandate was modified to produce efficient logisticians and staff-trained officers with requisite leadership skills that are capable of effectively discharging their duties in both joint and combined operations at formation and higher levels, using contemporary management concepts and techniques.
