AMAC Chairman commiserates with Karu Chiefdom over death of traditional ruler

The Executive Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, in the early hours of Saturday April 15, 2023, paid the first condolence visit and prayer for the late HRH (Dr) Emmanuel Kyauta Yepwi (JP), the Sa’karuyi of Karu Chiefdom, FCT-Abuja.

According to a statement, signed by Mr Kingsley Madaki, Senior Special Assistant Media and Public Affairs, Maikalangu, during the prayer session for the late monarch, described the late monarch as an upright leader, who worked tirelessly for the wellbeing of members of Karu Chiefdom during his lifetime.

“The late Sa’karuyi was a selfless leader because he never relented in pursuing projects that would bring development to his Chiefdom and the entire FCT. We pray that God forgives his shortcomings and accept his soul to rest in eternity,” he said. 

The Council boss expressed his deepest condolences to Distinguished Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda, the Senator representing FCT, the people of Karu chiefdom and Abuja Municipal Area Council as a whole over the loss of the well-loved traditional ruler.

He further described the late Sa’karuyi Karu as a peace-loving man who contributed immensely to the development of the FCT Traditional Council of Chiefs and Karu chiefdom.

He prayed that God should forgive the deceased and urged all his well-wishers to pray for the repose of his soul.

“My deepest sympathy to the FCT Traditional Council of Chiefs and residents of Abuja Municipal Area Council, especially the family of the late Sa’karuyi Karu, for this great loss.

”Sa’karuyi Karu was known to be very supportive of my administration. His love for his people knew no bounds. He held the Chiefdom dear to his heart and displayed obvious care for all of his subjects. He have lost a humane traditional ruler.

“I particularly remember the great role he played in mobilizing the people of Karu to vote massively in the just concluded elections. The late Sa’karuyi Karu was indeed a traditional ruler who had the welfare of his people at heart. He was an upright man and full of good counsel. Indeed, Karu chiefdom and AMAC have lost a rare gem. 

“I wish to convey my condolences to the family of our beloved eminent traditional ruler, most especially his wife, who has been a pillar of support to him before and during his reign, I also wish to condole the people of Karu Chiefdom for this great loss,” he said.

Recall that the late HRH (Dr) Emmanuel Kyauta Yepwi (JP), the Sa’karuyi of Karu Chiefdom, FCT-Abuja, who died on 15th April 2023, after a brief illness, was a second Class Chief of Karu Chiefdom.
