Alleged money laundering allegations on Air Peace Chairman may affect company – NNP



The New Nigeria Project, (NNP), has expressed concerns over the negative impact to the image of Air Peace CEO, Mr. Allen Onyema and the airlines due to his alleged involvement in fraud in the US. 
The Air Peace Chairman is facing a 27-count charge bothering on money laundering, three counts of bank fraud, three counts of credit application fraud, and two conspiracy charges in the United States in tune of $20 million (N7.2 billion).
The National Coordinator for NNP, Alhaji Mohammed Danjuma while briefing newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday it are concerned because it is a company that employs more than 4000 Nigerians.


He said Air Peace as a company is a brand which has not only brought pride to Nigerians but continues to provide the country with optimum aviation services, and unique air travel experience to Nigerians and foreigners alike. 
“This service further remains as a powerful contributor to our nation’s GDP as well as providing direct employment to over 4000 Nigerians”.
“We are particular about the court of public opinion. Let’s not declare him guilty until the contrary is proved. Although we are relieved that no court in the United States has so far indicted Mr Onyema,” Alhaji Danjuma said.


He said NNP was lending its voice to save the Air Peace Chairman .
Mr. Onyema has denied the allegations of bank fraud and money laundering to the tune of more than $20 million (N7.2 billion).
