ALGON seeks synergy with labour unions in Nasarawa

The chairman, Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) Nasarawa state chapter and chairman Lafia local government ,Alhaji Suleiman Wambai, has appealed to labour unions in the state to co-operate with the local government chairmen to complete the biometric screening exercise successfully.

He made the appealed yesterday in Lafia while briefing newsmen on the bailout fund that was received from Governor Umaru Almakura.
He explained that it had become necessary for labour to co-operate so as to sanitise the system and also to pave way to paid salaries without much hitches because the biometric exercise has revealed and rebelled some many things.
Adding that labour should also appreciate and recognised the effort made by the government in place regards with minimum wage in the state.

As according to him to make sure that we paid salaries as at went due
”If there is any problem we appealed to labour to always synergise with the Government and appreciate the problems in place that is the essence of rationality “Wambai said.
The chairman who also debunked on the insinuations going around that local Government chairmen were planning to pay its staffs  70 percent of two and half months with the bailout fund received as against the earlier directives given by the Governor saying there was no plan of nature.

According to him 250 per cent will be paid including the pensioners 50 percent for July, and the rest of the 200 per cent for the month of August and September.
“We have already directed the ministry for local Government to pay pensioners across the 13 local Government 250 per cent and I can assure you that they have already received their cheques since Friday “he said.
