Akume urges Benue people to pray for Tinubu 

 

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, has encouraged Benue people to continue to pray for President Ahmed Tinubu to enable him succeed in transforming the country.

Akume said it is the desire of the president to put in place projects that would be life transforming thereby putting smiles on the faces of the people. 

Akume made the disclosure on Sunday when Mbatiav community of Gboko local government area paid him a solidarity visit in his Makurdi residence.

He said God had always been on his side against all odds despite many attacks on him by some people in his own state, some of whom he had helped in the pursuit of their political career.

He said despite the betrayers and attacks against him, he has no enemy, including those that even wish him dead.

“My uncommon forgiveness to those I usually helped, but paid me back with betrayal has lifted me to where I am today.

“That is why I forgive easily and God do forgive my inadequacies as well,” Akume said. 

He further disclosed that people of Mbatiav had been very supportive to him since he launched himself into the political space.

Earlier, the speaker, Benue State House of Assembly, Mr Aondona Dajoh, commended the SGF for the role he has played in building Benue.

The traditional ruler, Mue Ter Gbemacha, Chief Ijiir Tarzoho, commended Tinubu for appointing Akume as the SGF, described his appointment as a round peg in a round hole.
