Akeredolu: Southwest governors renew commitment to Amotekun 

South West Governors have reiterated their commitment towards the sustenance of the security outfit Western Security Network Outfit code named Amotekun.

Speaking with the five commanders of the outfit in Akure, Ondo state capital after a five kilometers trek in honour of the late governor of the state, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, the Ondo state Governor, Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa appreciated the corps for protecting lives and properties of citizens in the zone.

Ayedatiwa noted that the activities of the Amotekun corps over the years at protecting the people could not be overemphasised, noting that he and other governors in the zone would continue to work together to ensure the sustenance of the corps.

He appreciated the commanders and their men at honour giving event to the late governor whose passage he  described a monumental loss to the  state and Amotekun as a whole.

Speaking after the trek, the Ondo state Commander of Amotekun who spoke on behalf of the five commanders’, Akogun Adeleye Adetunji, appreciated the officers and men of the corps for their unrelenting efforts at not letting down the founders of the corps and for  ensuring security in the zone.

Adeleye who is the chairman of the Corps noted that the efforts of late Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu would continue to be remembered as a great legacy, adding that he was resolute and sincere in making sure that Amotekun corps became a reality.

Thousands of Amotekun personnel from Ekiti, Oyo, Osun, Ogun and Ondo states participated in the five kilometers trek in honour of late Governor Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu.
