Air Peace boss Onyema chairs 22nd LAAC seminar

As the 22nd annual seminar of the League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents (LAAC) nears, the league has announced the Chief Executive Officer of Air Peace, Mr. Allen Onyema as the Chairman of the event.
Speaking in Lagos, the league’s Chairman, Mr. Olusegun Koiki said Onyema has a wealth of experience in the aviation industry, having started Air Peace in 2014 with only seven aircraft and grew the fleet to 24 currently. “No doubt, Onyema is one of the major players in the Nigerian aviation industry and beyond. He will bring his wealth of experience to the table as the chairman of the seminar. We are glad to have someone of his caliber chair our seminar,” said Koiki.
The seminar, which has as theme: ‘Financing Aviation Development through Private Sector Partnerships,’ holds on July 19, 2018 at the Sheraton Hotels and Towers, Lagos. Apart from Onyema, other major players in the global aviation industry would also be in attendance to present papers on how to move the Nigerian aviation industry forward. Some of the topics slated for discussion include ‘Partnerships as Key to Survival of Local Airlines in Nigeria,’ ‘Funding Perspectives of Aviation Security in Nigeria,’ ‘Federal/State Government Partnership in Air Navigational Development and ‘Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Financing.’
“We are also expecting resources persons from outside the country to deliver papers at the seminar,” he added. Meanwhile, the spokesman for Air Peace, Mr. Chris Iwarah said the annual seminar would offer aviation industry players a platform to discuss elaborately on the challenges and prospects in the Nigerian aviation industry in particular and Africa as a whole.
Air Peace has connected many Nigerian cities and the West Coast while plans are in the offing to launch long-haul operations to the United States, United Kingdom, South Africa and some other inter-continental routes.
