Ahmed Musa eyes 2026 World Cup

Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has said he hopes to feature in his third World Cup.

The most capped Nigeria international said he will be back on the squad for 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe in November after he was left out of today’s final 2023 AFCON group game against Sao Tome and Principe.

“I hope to be back soon for the World Cup qualifiers,” Ahmed Musa told BBC.

“It’s my dream to play in another World Cup.

“I believe we have a squad that is equally determined to qualify.”

Sivasspor winger Ahmed Musa only recently recovered from injury at his Turkish club.

He has already played at two World Cups – 2014 and 2018.
