Abuja road shuts

The Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) has revealed that some roads in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) will be shut during the weekend due to ongoing construction along the road.

This was disclosed in a statement on FCDA’s Twitter account on Friday.

The statement reads, “The Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) wishes to inform the general public that on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd, April 2023, from 7.00a.m to 6.00 p.m. some portion of the main carriageways and service lanes of Ring Road 1, popularly known as the Nnamdi Azikiwe expressway and the Area 1 roundabout will be closed to traffic coming from the Airport to the road to Area 1, vice-versa to enable ongoing works on the construction on the interchange to continue.

“The motoring public is, therefore advised to follow the alternative routes provided by the contractor. Please note that the FCT VIO, the Police, and the FRSC have been informed of the arrangement to provide traffic control during the period at both the roundabout and associated ramps.”
