2026 World Cup qualifier: Zimbabwe players shun training ahead of Super Eagles clash

The Warriors of Zimbabwe boycotted training ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Super Eagles of Nigeria in Kigali on Sunday.

The Warriors boycotted training demanding their dues from the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA).

Blueprint learnt that, ZIFA had to run around to ensure they deposited the money into the players’ accounts on Thursday night to avert another stand-off ahead of the clash with the Super Eagles.

Baltemar Brito’s side held Rwanda to a 0-0 draw in their opening fixture at the Huye Stadium, Butare on Wednesday.

The Super Eagles settled for a 1-1 draw against the Likuena of Lesotho.
