20, 000 unclaimed PVCs in Niger worrisome – Group

The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) has described as worrisome the 20,000 unclaimed Permanent Voters Registration  (PVCs) in Niger state.

The group director on Political Affairs, Comrade Mohammed Mohammed, stated this Thursday during a sensitisation in Minna.

He expressed concern over the low turnout of people for registration, revalidation and collection of their PVCs  during the stipulated period by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He said, “Niger state is third lowest ranking in the exercise with over 20,000 unclaimed PVCs which is worrisome.”

Mohammed stated that the sensitisation became necessary because citizens must be armed with their PVCs to enable them vote for  credible leaders of their choice.

He called on both old  and young residents of the state,  especially those who have attained 18 years in age  to register and collect their PVCs adding that “this will enable them achieve their yearnings and aspirations to vote for the leaders of their choice during the forthcoming elections.”

In a remark, the director, Strategic Communications of the coalition,  Samaila Musa, urged youth in the country to desist from all forms of social media abuses but express their anger through  getting their PVCs and voting for credible leaders during the 2023 general elections.

He argued that the youth owned the country, considering their population and strength, adding that they should resist the hijack of the nation.
