Zamfara UBE chair seeks support of traditional leaders

Traditional institutions in Zamfara state have been described as the most effective roots for easy access to reach the general public and be conversant with the needs and aspirations of commoners, hence the need to give them all the necessary support, recognition and solidarity for peace to thrive.

The executive chairman, Zamfara state Universal Basic Education Board, Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu,(Danmadamin Maradun), made the observation when he visited the Emir of Bungudu Sarkin Fulani, Alhaji Hassan Attahiru, in his palace, Wednesday.

“It is indeed clear that the traditional leaders are more closer and conversant with their people, particularly those who are living in  remote areas, in the areas of education, healthcare, peaceful coexistence and  moral decadence, hence the need to support them at all levels,” Maradun said.

Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu thanked all the traditional rulers in Zamfara state for their unflinching support and the cooperation they are giving him and his office. He expressed hope that the magnitude would be maintained and sustained.

The SUBEB chairman said he was in Bungudu to supervise the step-down training going on in preparation for re-opening of schools across the state on 1st November, 2020.

Responding, the Emir of Bungudu Sarkin Fulani, Alhaji Hassan Attahiru, thanked the executive chairman for the visit and promised that as rulers of their domains, traditional rulers will always give their total support to all programmes that have direct bearing to their people.
