Zamfara PDP chieftain calls for unity among members

A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain in Zamfara state who is also a former Minister of Defence, Gen. Aliyu Muhammad Gusau, has appealed to the members of the party in the state to remain united and to cooperate with its leadership to enable it to regain its popularity and win elections come 2019.

Gusau made the call yesterday while addressing supporters at the Caucus of Elders Meeting held at his residence in Gusau.
According to him, no meaningful development can be achieved by the party without unity among its members, and that the party will capture power in Zamfara come 2019.
“We have lost elections from 1999 to date in the state, but this time around, we will remain resolute and committed to ensure PDP win come 2019 in Zamfara state,” he said.

Also speaking, the chairman of the party in the state, Sen. Hassan Muhammad Nasiha, said the objective of the meeting was to strategies new mechanism that would “bring back the party’s nobility and popularity as well as to ensure unity among members.”
Nasiha urged members to remain their brothers’ keepers and to eschew any move that could cause division among members of the party.
